The Good, The Bad and the Bargains with Everything5Pounds*

Tuesday, 28 June 2016

Everything5Pounds isn't necessarily a website you might think to hunt on for plus size bargains, but they actually have a whole plus size section that sells up to a size 30! You can get a lot of good basic tops as standard, simple skirts and cover ups, and if you keep an eye out, you can grab a totally amazing piece or two! But you have to be quick, there is limited stock and once it is gone, it's gone! As their name suggests, everything they sell is £5. They often have ex-stock from popular online plus size brands and last season's bargains. They recently got in touch to ask me to review a couple of pieces so I opted for a top and a pair of trousers. I've tended to always buy tops or dresses, and never bottoms from them, and you'll see why shortly.

First, the good. This is the Mesh Yoke Striped Top* and I feel like I'm rocking some sort of Dennis the Menace chic. The length is cute, it's not going to ride up too much when you raise your arms which is always nice. The lace at the neckline is adorable and makes the top a bit more dressed up, and it's a nice loose fit. I really like this. It's a statement top and could be worn day to day or really dressed up with a pair of sleek black trousers, stilettos and a pleather jacket for ultimate badassery.

And the trousers. These are the Black Striped High Waisted Trousers*. And this is the closest you'll get to a photo of them on me. They looked so lush on the website, with gold zip pocket details and a slightly cropped leg, but the sizing is absolutely bizarre. These are marked up as a 6XL and a 7XL, and are not remotely the right size. These are at least 3-4 sizes smaller than they are supposed to be. You can see how small they look compared to my shoulders! It's a shame because I really like the design, I can never resist a good pinstripe, but they are just totally the wrong size. If they fit I'd love them, but no about of dancing about and wiggling was going to get these over my thighs comfortably.

Ultimately, when something costs £5, I'm prepared to take the risk, and I won't let these trousers put me off. Be sure to read any reviews on the products that you can to help judge your size or if you want to order the item, or just go for it and you might be surprised! I've had some gorgeous dresses I love from them and this top is going to be a staple for my work wear wardrobe.

What have your experiences been of Everything5Pounds?

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

  1. I have to confess to always nearly placing an order and then panicking about sizing.... Not sure why I worry so much at only a fiver, maybe next time I'll be brave! Love that top x

  3. What bizarre sizing! I'd hate to see the non XL sizes lol I was only on the site today and fell in love with some sunglasses but the clothes just don't often do it for me enough to want to order. Might trawl through for some basic staples though

  5. As a 6ft 3ins giant haha I need longer jeans and slim fit shirts but in xxl. Fits quite difficult to find so this may be a great option. Nice post hope you didn't spend too much :)
